What are you believing for in 2019? We are joining together to set aside time everyday to believe God for supernatural breakthrough! Let’s overcome what’s been holding us back and break free from our past, break out of our limitations, and break through our doubts to fulfill the destiny God has placed on our lives!

Simply stated, biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose. As a church, we are fasting in order to deepen our relationship with God and to walk in step with His plan and purpose. The best way to do this is to redirect our food source or something else of importance to us (i.e. media). This is accomplished through substituting our regular intake with Bible reading, praying and journaling.

The overall goal is to experience a genuine hunger for spending time with God. According to the Bible, there are three duties of every Christian: give, pray, and fast. Fasting takes a lot of discipline and strength – strength you can only receive from God. Your private discipline will bring you rewards in Heaven, as stated in Matthew 6.

When you give God your first through fasting, prayer, and giving at the beginning of the year, you set the course for the entire year.

Prayer changes things! Below is a guide that outlines how to pray to God with Thanksgiving (written by Pastor Eric). Link to it directly, or subscribe to it on YouVersion.

Use the simple S.O.A.P. method during your daily devotional time to grow your faith and discern the voice of God!

First, determine a passage of the Bible that you’re going to read. (For example, you decide to read the book of Mark. Each day set aside time to read one or two chapters until the book is completed.) Pray and ask God to speak to you through His Word. After your personal reading time, write the following:

Write in your journal a verse or two that made an impression on you.

Write what came to mind as you were reading this particular passage.

Write one sentence about how you can apply this Scripture to your life right now.

Write a personal message to God based on what He revealed to you, and ask Him to help you apply it.

Without writing them down, you may forget those blessings, important lessons, and answered prayers. Wouldn’t it also be helpful to have a written record for recalling God’s faithfulness and sharing encouragement with others? (Your breakthrough is for more than just you, it’s also connected to someone else’s destiny! We were never designed to do life alone.) Quicken your BREAKTHROUGH and begin journaling your daily devotions today!
